Continuing Education Information
As part of our mission of shifting the current paradigm of mental health, Mad in America Continuing Education offers CEs to mental health professionals. Our CEs are offered in partnership with Commonwealth Educational Seminars. See the Commonwealth Educational Seminars notice below for details. Please note that not all of our courses offer CEs. Check individual course descriptions to see if and what types of credits are available. We are currently unable to offer CMEs for our courses.
Commonwealth Educational Seminars Notices
Social Workers: Commonwealth Educational Seminars, provider #1117, is approved as a Provider for Social Work Continuing Education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. ASWB approval period: October 5, 2015 through October 5, 2018. Commonwealth Educational Seminars maintains responsibility for the program. Social Workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social Workers participating in these courses will receive the specified number of clinical continuing education clock hours.
Psychologists: Commonwealth Educational Seminars is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education credit programs. Commonwealth Educational Seminars maintains responsibility for this program and its contents. Psychologists will receive the specified number of continuing education credit upon completing these programs.
Marriage and Family Therapists: Continuing education credit for Marriage & Family Therapists is awarded in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, ME, MD, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI and WY. CES maintains responsibility for this program. Marriage and Family therapists completing these programs will receive the specified number of CE hours of credit.
Professional Counselors: Commonwealth Educational Seminars is entitled to grant continuing education credit to Professional Counselors in the following states: AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, ME, MA, MO, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI, WY. CES maintains responsibility for this program. Professional Counselors completing these programs will receive the specified number of continuing education credit hours.
Nurses: As an American Psychological Association approved provider Commonwealth Educational Seminars programs are accepted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Every state Board of Nursing accepts ANCC approved programs except California and Iowa. CES maintains responsibility for this program. Nurses completing these programs will receive the specified number of continuing education credit hours.
